Accepted File Formats

Press Graphix prefers the following file formats for printing your job:

Quark XPress. Quark XPress is the leading graphic layout program in the industry. Please flight check all Quark files before submitting files. All placed (support) images and fonts (screen and printer fonts) must be supplied with the Quark file. Please supply a minimum 1/8" bleed on all four sides if applicable.

Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator is the industry's leading vector-based illustration program. Please be certain to supply all fonts (screen and printer fonts) with your file, or convert all type to outlines (paths). If converting type to outlines, first make a copy of the original file to preserve editable type in the original design for future usage. Make sure all colors are converted to CMYK process and remove all unneccesary colors (like Pantone and RGB). Please supply a minimum 1/8" bleed on all four sides if applicable. Save us a copy as an eps file.

Proofing

Press Graphix uses Star Proof digital proofing software and the Epson 4000 which is a new
revolution in proofing for the printing industry. This provides the ability to resample high-res, pre-separated, screened bitmap plates from the RIP into a color calibrated contract proof.
It provides a RIP Once Output Many workflow to ensure total data integrity between client sign-off and final press prints. No more surprises with text reflows, font errors, OPI faults, trapping and other PostScript oddities that cause costly re-runs.

Sreened contract proofs

To maintain image sharpness, Star Proof uses the actual dots of the original RIPed data, preserving dot, screening and rosette patterns on the proof. The results on our inkjet printer are stunning and contract-quality. A Proof of up to 200 lines per inch can be produced. Star Proof's screening options combine with a comprehensive range of color management tools - ICS color calibration, controls for color shade, calibration curves and dot gain compensation - to ensure that your proof truly matches the final press sheet.

Computer-to-Plate

We utilize computer-to-plate technology to increase productivity. The DPX is fully automated - capable of producing 22 press ready plates per hour at 2540dpi. This technology saves time in producing your job and saves the customer money.
